Emma Turner represents the California School Boards Association (CSBA) on the ACS WASC Commision. Ms. Turner currently serves as the president of CSBA. She wants to make a positive difference in the lives of the many K-12 students in California who are not academically successful. Her main mission is to advocate for all students to ensure they receive what they need to be successful regardless of their circumstances.
Ms. Turner served 27 years on active duty in the Navy before retiring in 2004. Her last assignment was navy instructor of military law for the San Diego Detachment. Her first job after retiring was adjunct professor with the University of Phoenix and she also earned her multiple subject and special education (mild/moderate) teacher credentials, allowing her to substitute for K-8 schools in local San Diego communities. Emma and her husband have three successful daughters, all college graduates and all employed.
